Acquired Taste Issue 1 brings together original contributions from artists Alexis Gomez and Shori Sims alongside an exclusive interview on stewardship with the former personal chef of Chuck Close, whose Self-Portrait (Yellow Raincoat), anchors the show. The publication is punctuated by a series of archival Polaroids offering glimpses into the practices of Estéban Whiteside, Taryn Harris, Steven M. Cummings, Sherman Fleming, and others—publishing the catalogue as a document of process, authorship, and cultural memory.
Beginning April 21, 2026, First Access holders will receive a password to the acquisition portal, where select works may be secured in advance. This digital privilege extends into the physical space with exclusive entry during the Collector’s Preview: Friday, May 29 from 5–6 PM and Saturday, May 30 from 3–4 PM at HOMME DC (2000 L St. NW, Washington, D.C.). During these hours, the exhibition is experienced without interruption—no paddles raised, no competing bids—only the work, the collector, and the opportunity to act.
First Access closes as the evening sales begin, when the exhibition transforms into a live, global auction environment.
